Stained Glass Walking Tour
Welcome to Trinity Church, Lenox! We are delighted to share with you some of the beautiful art and architecture entrusted to us. This brief tour describes some of the key features of our stained- glass windows. Installed between 1888-1911, these windows reflect some of the finest stained-glass art of the time.
As part of our Christian faith, we believe that God has given us gifts and talents to create beauty to lead people deeper into the love of God. This church is full of incredible works of art that tell part of the story of who we are as a community of faith.
All of the stained-glass windows in Trinity come from one of two studios: Heaton, Butler, and Bayne; and Tiffany and Company. The earliest windows are the picture windows near the altar (Heaton, Butler, and Bayne). The next phase of windows come from Tiffany and Co. These include the two windows along the right-hand side (as you face the altar), the Rose Window, and the three tall windows in the chapel. In the final phase, the windows are again produced by Heaton, Butler, and Bayne.
