Why a Labyrinth?

In our world today, we tend to think that prayer is something that we do with words or something that we do in our minds. But God has given us bodies, and we can pray with our whole selves – mind, body, and spirit. The labyrinth is a tool to help us pray in this deeper way. By walking the path of the labyrinth, we physically act out the twists and turns in our lives. We go on a journey – both an outward journey on the path and an inward journey in our spirit. We follow the path until we come to the center where we rest and encounter God. Eventually, we follow the path back out to the world, but we discover that we have been changed. We are changed by the journey, and we are changed by our encounter with God.

The gift of walking the labyrinth helps us walk the paths of our lives with a new perspective.
